Windows and Mac

Watching IPTV on Windows and Mac

A computer makes a good second screen. Here is what to install and how to set it up.

On a Mac

UHF has a Mac version in the App Store and works like it does on iPhone: choose Xtream, type your server, username and password.

On Windows

Install a desktop IPTV player from the Microsoft Store or from the player's official website, then add your Xtream Codes login. If the player only supports playlists, use the M3U link your provider gave you.

Quick test with VLC

VLC can open an M3U link (Media, Open Network Stream). There is no TV guide, but it tells you in 30 seconds whether your login works.

Smooth playback on a computer

  • Use a cable instead of Wi-Fi on desktop PCs.
  • Close heavy apps and browser tabs while watching.
  • If the picture stutters but sound is fine, switch the player's hardware acceleration on or off.

Safety

Only install players from official stores or websites. "Free IPTV" bundles from random sites often carry malware.
