What Insider members actually get
This isn't another newsletter that sends generic "5 tips for cord-cutting" emails. Insider exists because there's stuff we can't share publicly โ discount codes that get burned if they go viral, private app links from developers we work with, early reviews before they hit search engines.
๐ 1. Discount codes you can't get anywhere else
Specifically:
- Extended VPN trials โ usually 30 days vs. the public 7-day
- IPTV provider discounts โ 15-30% off subscriptions our partners give us for readers
- Real-Debrid extension deals โ discounted long-term renewals
- Hardware coupon codes โ Firestick, Shield Pro, Onn 4K Pro discounts from time-limited campaigns
These codes have limited slots โ once they're used up by Insider members, they're gone. That's the deal we have with partners.
๐ 2. Private app vault
Some streaming apps don't have public download URLs โ they're shared in private communities to avoid takedown. We have direct relationships with several developers and can share:
- ๐ฑ Beta APK access for popular streaming apps before public release
- ๐ Private trackers and addon repositories that public lists can't include
- ๐ฆ "Modded" versions of popular apps with ads stripped, premium unlocked (use at your own legal discretion)
๐๏ธ 3. Early reviews
We review new apps, devices, and services 2-3 weeks before publishing on the public site. Insider members see them first.
Why? It lets us pressure-test our findings with actual users before we commit them to public record. You get the early intel; we get more accurate published reviews.
๐ฐ 4. Weekly digest
One email per week. Curated. ~5 minutes to read.
Contents:
- What we tested this week and what surprised us
- Any major Firestick / Android TV news (OS updates that break things, etc.)
- Apps to install or uninstall
- 1-2 discount codes
- Reader questions answered
If you don't want it, unsubscribe in one click. The link is at the bottom of every email.
Why is this free?
Honest answer: we make money through affiliate links on our public pages. NordVPN, IPTV providers, Real-Debrid โ when readers sign up through our links, we get a small commission.
An email list multiplies the value of those affiliate links. Instead of you finding us once and forgetting, we stay in touch โ and when you're ready to subscribe to a VPN or IPTV provider 6 months from now, you remember us.
Insider members convert at roughly 4x the rate of one-time visitors. That math is what makes the discount codes and private vault economically viable for us to maintain.
So yes, it's free, but there's a self-interest angle. We're being transparent about it.
What we won't do
To set expectations:
- No spam. One email per week, maximum. Often less in slow news weeks.
- No selling your email. We've signed a no-share agreement that's part of our privacy policy.
- No "limited time" panic-marketing. If a deal is genuinely time-limited, we'll say so once. If it's not, we won't pretend it is.
- No upsells to paid tiers. Insider is free now and will remain free. If we launch a paid tier later, it'll be a separate product, not a forced upgrade.
What members say
"The NordVPN code Insider sent me saved me $30 vs the public deal. Paid for the next 2 years of Insider just on that."
โ M. Chen, member since March 2025
"Got the early review on the Onn 4K Pro three weeks before Amazon had any reviews up. Bought it based on that, no regrets."
โ D. Patel, member since January 2025
"Honestly the only newsletter I actually read. Most are noise. This one's actually useful and one email per week is the right cadence."
โ S. Williams, member since November 2024
Sample email
So you know what you're signing up for, here's an example of what a typical Insider email looks like:
From: daisy@iptvobserver.com
Subject: ๐ฅ NordVPN extended trial + the Firestick OS update breaking Stremio
Hey {Name},
Three things this week:
1. NordVPN gave us a 60-day trial link for Insider members (public version is 30 days). Code at the bottom โ only 200 redemptions available.
2. Amazon pushed a Fire OS 8.2.4 update last Tuesday. It breaks Stremio's background playback on Firestick 4K Max. Workaround: roll back to 8.2.2 or wait for the Stremio patch (developer says next week).
3. We just finished testing the new Onn 4K Pro vs Firestick 4K Max. Surprising winner. Full review hits the public site in 3 weeks โ Insider preview attached.
Stay frosty,
Daisy
